Merchant controls are a Rocket Card feature that enables you to block companies (AKA merchants or subscription services) from charging you at any time and for any reason. If you block a company, all future transactions on your Rocket Card will be automatically declined. You can always unblock that company with one tap in the Rocket Money app at any time.
This feature is perfect for when you’re trying to cancel a subscription and want to make sure you’ll never get charged again.
Here’s how it works:
Select a subscription that’s billed to your Rocket Card that you’d like to cancel and cease all payments towards
Cancel that subscription in the Rocket Money app
When you’ve submitted a cancelation, you’ll be prompted to also block all future charges from that company
Tap “Block” and all charges will be blocked immediately.
Tips for success:
Add all your recurring subscriptions to your Rocket Card, so when you no longer want the service, you’ll be able to cancel the subscription and block all future charges instantly.
Use your digital Rocket Card for online purchases so that when you check out, your card details will always be saved. This is especially useful if you’ve lost your physical card, which will have different numbers when you get a replacement
