A key part of SmartPay is that it checks your account balance to decide whether or not it should make a payment (to avoid overdrafts). We do this by using Plaid, our bank-linking partner, to connect with your bank accounts. Most accounts connected through Plaid are eligible for SmartPay, but there's a few that are ineligible.

Plaid no longer supports Fidelity accounts, so these accounts are not eligible for SmartPay.

If you want to use SmartPay and the account you connected is ineligible, try linking another account to make payments from.
